Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data EspriaFox collects, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to keep it plain. If anything is unclear, email us at hello@espriafox.com.

In short: we collect the details you give us to run your wedding plan, plus the sign-in details needed to keep your account secure and basic analytics to understand how the site is used. We do not sell your data. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Who we are

EspriaFox is a free online wedding planner operated by EspriaFox ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, contact us at hello@espriafox.com.

The data we collect

When you create an account

If you register directly, we collect your email address and a password. Passwords are stored only in hashed form, so we never see your actual password.

When you sign in with Google

If you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your name and email address with us so we can create and identify your account. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not access your contacts, calendar, Drive, or any other Google data. Your use of Google sign-in is also subject to Google's own privacy policy.

When you plan without an account (guest mode)

You can start planning without registering. When you do, we create a temporary account linked to a cookie stored in your browser, and we save the planning data you enter against it. This lets you pick up where you left off. If you do not return and do not register, the temporary account and its data are automatically deleted after 30 days of inactivity.

Your wedding planning data

We store the information you add while planning, which may include:

• Partner names, wedding date, venue and budget figures
• Your checklist, milestones and notes
• Your guest list, including guest names, which side they belong to, RSVP status and meal choices
• Your menu and seating arrangements
• Portrait photos you upload, which are resized and stored in our database

Guest RSVP data

If you share your RSVP link, guests who respond provide their attendance, meal choice and any note they add. This information is stored against your wedding so you can see who is coming. You are responsible for the personal data of the guests you add (see our Terms of Service).

Newsletter

If you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email address and a note of where you signed up from. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Technical data and analytics

Like most websites, we record limited technical information to keep the service running and to understand how it is used. On the live site we use Google Analytics, which sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages visited, approximate location and device type. We also keep server logs for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. Essential cookies keep you signed in and hold your guest-mode plan, and the site does not work without them. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) help us understand usage on the live site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though essential cookies are needed to sign in and plan.

Why we use your data, and our legal basis

• To provide the service (your account and planning data): performance of our contract with you.
• To keep accounts secure and prevent misuse: our legitimate interests.
• For the newsletter and analytics: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run EspriaFox, namely our hosting provider (to store the data), Google (for sign-in and analytics), and anyone we are legally required to disclose it to. These providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards apply.

How long we keep it

• Account and planning data: until you delete your account or ask us to remove it.
• Guest-mode data: automatically deleted after 30 days of inactivity if you never register.
• Newsletter email: until you unsubscribe.

Deleting your data

You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing hello@espriafox.com. Deleting your account removes your wedding and all the planning data attached to it, including guest details and photos.

Your rights

Under data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, email hello@espriafox.com. If you are in the UK and are not happy with how we handle your data, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

EspriaFox is intended for adults planning a wedding and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be made clear on the site.
